Two additional thoughts

When we implement National Healthcare through Medicare we will eliminate the fear that Medcare has a financial problem. Our method of payment will be on a pay as you go basis. We will not run out of funds!

We should not think of the method of obtaining funds as a tax. Think of it as a premium on insurance (although we must admit that it is a tax on our wealth). We will all be paying the same rate!

Even non-profit institutions should be included in our basis. Many will be relieved of the responsibilities on medical payments that they presently cover.

Request that anyone that differs with the opinion expressed, tell us why.

Over 40 million people do not have health care coverage. We furnish such coverage to people we have placed in our prisons. Also give health coverage to ememy combatants we have captured during a war. How can we do less for our fellow citizens?

National Healthcare Through Medicare

I proposed that we have National Healthcare Through Medicare. Suggested that we could get funds by a tax on our National Wealth. This would be about 1 to 2 % estate tax. On my web site I showed why this was a fair tax.

To those who object, I would like to point out, that though they may not realize this, the lowering of the interest rate from 5% to 2% has resulted in such a "tax" on their estate of 3%. When, for example they buy a CD, they are earning 3% less than previously earned.

The only trouble with such "tax" is that the funds did not go to the government and are not available to purchase National Healthcare Through Medicare.

If we had established a National Healthcare System Through Medicare, many people who could not meet their mortgage payments might not have fallen into that position.
